Earthquake, again!

It’s 9:30 at night. The house has quieted down, the children are mostly in bed, and I’m busily mopping my floors to finish up for the day when boom, shudder, shake! The house is loudly protesting the quaking of the earth! The front door was open so that’s where we all fled quite rapidly! Lorne grabbed Tania and joined us. Poor Dustin rounded the corner from his room and hit the freshly mopped floor a bit too hard, but not for long. Once we were out front I told Lorne that we need to see if everyone else got out, but by that time it was pretty much over. We went out back and compared stories, and saw that everyone had done a great job with their rooms of people! America, Regina’s little 4 yr old, asked one of the other Mom’s, “Did your house shake too?” Quite the excitement for the little ones! Once my shaky limbs were able I came back in to consider whether maybe I should just relax and clean tomorrow but concluded it best to just finish my jobs and rest more easily. It continues to quiver every so often but that’s to be expected, so we just pray for safety and head to bed.

Saturday Crist Jr and Edna came to visit us for the weekend. They were in Tijuana for medical treatments and decided to come see us. We really enjoyed their visit! This morning Nevin had a dentist appointment in Tijuana so it worked well for Lorne to take them over at the same time.

Have a blessed week in the Lord!

Glad you're safe! But I got this mental picture of poor Dustin flying around the corner and slipping on your floor...its not funny but for some reason it did make me laugh! He's a tough little guy! And, I'm glad you had some family come see you too! Have a good week. Marilyn

A Glimpse of Mexico...
Land of palm trees, ocean waves wild,
Sand laden winds, the laugh of a child,
Rolling mountains, the quake of the earth,
A nameless child abandoned at birth.

Desert and brush stretching away,
Sunsets of fire ending the day,
Sullen gray rain pelting the sand,
A child cradled in the palm of God's hand.

Bustling towns, bumpy dirt roads,
Beautiful houses and shabby abodes,
Chill of the night when the sun has set,
Love in our hearts warming us yet.

Beautiful children with pain filled eyes,
A loving Father hearing their cries,
Lowly servants the Master deems meet,
Loving these children as His hands and feet.

A land that is torn by pain and sin,
War being waged for the souls of men,
And hearts once gripped by the devil's sway
Are touched by God in a mighty way!
