Another Goodbye…

Out the lane, and out of our lives here. Darin left for home this morning. He was here for 2 yrs and 3 mo. and was such a part of our family here. I feel like I just let one of my boys go. Lorne depended on him so much and he was such a help all around. And, he was one of the youth here which means that this leaves Nevin as the only single fellow here anymore. Thanks again, Darin!

WE WILL MISS YOU!!

More goodbyes…

We seem to be in the time of goodbyes these weeks and I don’t enjoy goodbyes!

Last Tuesday, April 13, Marlene left for Costa Rica to be at home for a month over the time of her sister’s wedding. That left 12 children to divide amongst the others, so they do have their quivers full!

Then, on Friday, Joselin and Marbella left to go live with their adoptive mother. They’ve been going with her for visits and getting to know her so it was easier for them to go.

We were blessed this last weekend with visitors from Texas. Phil’s parents, Dan & Rhoda Miller were here visiting them so they shared time with us here on Sunday. They are taking the first trailer load of pottery to Texas from the “factory” here. It was exciting to see the load of product go out the lane and know that it’s a reality.

On Sunday morning a little before church we had a surprise when in came Leland Ulrich and his nephew Weston. They had been in CA so blessed us with a visit as well! We really enjoy the fellowship and encouragement of visitors!

Last evening we went to Phil’s to enjoy fellowship with them and Dan’s and the strawberry cheesecake she made. It was refreshing for us!

God bless you all with a wonderful week!

The Love of God for Me…

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:5

Our sins are forgiven, we have peace in Him and we are healed! How precious the reality of true life in Jesus! We had a very precious communion service here this evening with our little group of believers. Even tho our numbers are very few, our God is still the same and is with us. The children were very open in their curiosity and wanted to observe everything that we were doing. The feet washing practice was especially interesting, they thought!  What a joy to give them a Godly example of Biblical teaching.

Thanks to those of you who have been praying for our safety in this week of trembling earth here. For those who didn’t hear, last Sun. there was an earthquake centered 2 hrs east of us with a 7.2 magnitude on the scale. It shook us pretty much here but we were very blessed to not have any damage. It’s a very strange feeling to quickly leave the house because it’s shaking, only to find that outside the ground is swaying as well.  Throughout the week we’ve continued to have tremors that keep us wondering what is happening but nothing worse. Greivin’s have had some things fall off the walls but nothing harmed. It’s wonderful to be able to rest in God’s protection and know that He controls even the innards of the earth.

We were also blessed to be able to go to Tijuana again on Tuesday and spend some time with Virgil & Liz. It’s so encouraging to see the progress she has made and we thank God for answered prayer thus far, even if we don’t know the future.

We are enjoying the new life of springtime…

By faith, the girls planted some flowers. Hopefully, with time it will be full and beautiful.

Our youth had a wonderful afternoon hiking! It’s clear that there were some ‘be there’ jokes going on!
